Snow! Snow! Come out in the Snow!

We got a good little taste of winter this week. We had some snow, some sleet and some freezing rain. Andrew and I both love the snow. We love to watch it come down. We love to watch the Live! Local! Redundant! news packages. We love mittens, hats, scarves and boots. We love to go outside and listen to the quiet. We love to throw it at each other and make snowmen. We love to hanker down and pretend like we couldn't go anywhere even if we wanted to!

Jane?
Not so much. She will get into the anticipation part. She will even fake excitement at watching it snow from every window of the house. She tolerates the news programs as long as they don't interrupt Sesame Street.

She does not care for the snow clothes. It takes a good twenty minutes to get everyone dressed for some snow play. This is when the whining ensues. "I'm hot. I have to pee. This is too tight. I don't like these glubs. I'm hungry. " Then we finally get outside and, "I'm cold. The snow hurts my eyes. I don't want to fall down. I'm hungry. Let's go warm up."

If we ignore her, then she will usually get into playing in the snow. Or maybe she just decides that it's easier to placate us.
This is her and Daddy playing in the snow. They managed to make a small family of snowmen before Janie needed to come inside to warm up.
Sorry the picture is so small.
Margaret and I stayed in that day and this is as close as my zoomer would zoom.
If you click on it, it will be bigger.

And here is Margaret. Oddly enough, she seems to enjoy the brisk weather!

Rice Cereal!

Yay! Molly got the all-clear from Dr. Hamidi to start rice cereal! She had her first bowl yesterday afternoon. Honestly, I don't know who was more excited, Andrew or Jane. Baby Sister seemed to enjoy it and I'm really enjoying her having a nice, big bowl right before bed from here on out!

Also at Molly's four month appointment, we found out that she is 12 pounds 6 ounces and 26 inches long. She grew over an inch in three weeks! Looks like she's going to be long like her Mommy. She is meeting all of her milestones and only let out the littlest whimper when she got her three immunizations.

Welcoming Baby Caroline!

Uncle Brooke and Aunt Jen are the proud parents to Mary Caroline Roberts born January 14, 2009. She was 8 lbs, 13 ounces and gave her mother a super rough time during delivery.
We are forgiving her, but she's on notice!
Jane is so excited about Baby Caroline and wants nothing more than to cover her in kisses and asks to visit her everyday. Of course, her infatuation may have something to do with the 200 pounds of sugar Uncle Brookie stuffs her with during each visit.
Here's Jane singing "Sweet Caroline" for her new "tousin".

Molly and Caroline haven't met quite yet, as Molly has a little cough and little to no interest in other babies right now, especially ones who have prematurely dethroned her as the newest Roberts grandchild. Watch out, Mary Caroline! Molly's got her eyes on you!

Buttercup

Our Margaret. Our Dear Molly. Born on September 17, 2008, she has been such an easy and wonderful baby. She eats well. She sleeps well enough (most nights). She smiles and coos and wants so badly to laugh. She really has been a dream come true for all of us!

Sweet Pea

Our Janie. It's hard to believe that she's two and a half now, but then again, spend some time with her and you'll agree that she is all TWO. She is strong-willed, energetic and the best big sister ever to little Margaret. She loves cooking (mostly tasting), singing and is still having an extreme love affair with a red fuzzy monster named Elmo. Janie loves going to Hoppin Tots which is a gym class we take on Fridays. She is always bouncing on the trampoline and swinging on the rings and all sorts of things that make me dizzy, nervous and full of pride at her fearless enthusiasm for life.

New Baby=New Blog

Due somewhat to the gentle urging of Aunt Shirley,
I have decided to resurrect the blog.

As I will be highlighting my time with both of my girls, I decided to put funnyfunnyjane.blogspot.com to bed and create a brand new blog. I chose the name Sweet Pea and Buttercup as those are Jane and Molly's nicknames. Jane is our Sweet Pea and fair Molly is our Buttercup. Barring another pregnancy, I hope to keep this blog going for all of 2009!

This was our attempt at a group shot. :)
