We got a good little taste of winter this week. We had some snow, some sleet and some freezing rain. Andrew and I both love the snow. We love to watch it come down. We love to watch the Live! Local! Redundant! news packages. We love mittens, hats, scarves and boots. We love to go outside and listen to the quiet. We love to throw it at each other and make snowmen. We love to hanker down and pretend like we couldn't go anywhere even if we wanted to!
Jane?
Not so much. She will get into the anticipation part. She will even fake excitement at watching it snow from every window of the house. She tolerates the news programs as long as they don't interrupt Sesame Street.
She does not care for the snow clothes. It takes a good twenty minutes to get everyone dressed for some snow play. This is when the whining ensues. "I'm hot. I have to pee. This is too tight. I don't like these glubs. I'm hungry. " Then we finally get outside and, "I'm cold. The snow hurts my eyes. I don't want to fall down. I'm hungry. Let's go warm up."
If we ignore her, then she will usually get into playing in the snow. Or maybe she just decides that it's easier to placate us.
This is her and Daddy playing in the snow. They managed to make a small family of snowmen before Janie needed to come inside to warm up.
Sorry the picture is so small.
Margaret and I stayed in that day and this is as close as my zoomer would zoom.
If you click on it, it will be bigger.
